might be bad battery cables and or connection
might be bad battery or starter

do your head lights and radio turn and play?

are you in park fully(if automatic tranny) ...& ...in neutral and clutch depressed fully (if manual tranny)..if yes to these then safety neutral switch could be bad

Check connections first all of them including the one on the starter that one corrodes especially in snow areas where lots of salt is used on the road. ford starters rarely fail so that would be the last thing. if the connections are good try jumping the truck if that doesn't work short the big post to the small post on the fire wall relay if it starts replace the relay.. If you jump it and it starts test the battery..

Take your battery connecters off and clean them as well as the battery posts. If that doesnt work turn your key to run position take a screwdriver and and jump between the two posts on your starter relay on your firewall if it starts you have found the problem. If not check all your grounds and positive cables all the way to the starter and grounds to the frame. Im sure this is a simple fix good luck!

Your starter relay is on the passinger side firewall follow the wires from your battery and alt and it will lead you straight to your starter relay.
