Not in California - the parts stores do not read codes. They have been prevented from doing so by the mechanic's union.
It would be cheaper to buy a cheap code reader than to pay a shop to pull the codes - however you do it, you MUST read the codes before you even know where to start. My nephew in San Diego bought a cheap code reader at Harbor Freight that does the job.

There is a list at the top of this forum. Just bring it here post it. most code readers have a basic interpretation that will give you an idea..

Print the ad and they will honor that price at the retail store.

It's not doing any interpretation - just retreiving info from the PCM for display.
You may want to feed that back to Linear Logic - I'm sure they'd love to know this.

I put a '00 engine/trans/harness into my '94 CV, and a '99 PCM. I tried running a FRPP tach driver & PowerDyne tach for a while, but I hated the red 4-digit display, and eventually, the tach driver fried & stalled the engine. So I ripped them both out & went to the ScanGauge for tach & ECT. Because of how I hooked up the EVAPS & the used cats I installed, I get some codes occasionally, and the ScanGauge always diplays BS like C2500 & B3145 instead of the real codes shown by my Autel (and the OTC & Modis at work). I used the ScanGauge for quick scans at work before I got the Autel, but it misread them all the time.
BTW
The HF version doesn't appear to be USB-updateable, like the Autel.

In Calif you can go to Aamco transmession and they will read the codes. Just don't let them "fix" it for you, and get the exact P0 numbers Then post them here.
Have your wife or girlfriend (or both) take it in and tell them she has to talk to you before any work is agreed to.
