Within a few milliseconds of disconnecting the battery on a stock Ford (and most other brands), the KAM's capacitor is the ONLY voltage source available to the KAM, and turning on the headlights won't have any effect on it. Why is this so difficult to comprehend?

I am not the one with comprehension problems. I completely agree with you that the KAM will discharge quickly as long as there is no voltage being supplied to the computer from any other source.
