Dropped bolt down into engine valley

Hey guys, This is on a 1997 F150 w/ 4.6 motor. I took off the throttle body yesterday to clean it and while putting it back on the motor dropped I dropped one of the bolts down into the motor between the valley and the lower intake.

I cant see it from any angle by looking down from on top. I dont think it will hurt anything laying there but do you think I could fish it out somehow? Maybe if I used a magnet or one of those retractable claws along with a mirror going in from the front of the motor?

If worse comes to worse I'll get another bolt from the dealer or junkyard but I'm curious to know how someone else in the same situation made out.

Thanks a bunch.

yea i dropped my throttle body screw down there, and just left the bolt down there, and left the cover off of the truck, 3 or 4 years later when i pulled the intake manifold the bolt was still down there

Harbor Freight sells a magnet grabber thats got a pretty strong magnet and it also has a little light built in. Works great for our intakes dropping stuff down there..

Large bolts, sockets, etc. can be an issue with the knock sensor, giving it a false reading when the foreign object bounces around under there. The small bolt you are referring to is no big deal, won't hurt anything.

- Yep, I was trolling, -felt a little nibble, back stepped, bobbed and she latched on. That's my favorite fishing hole when I can't find sockets. I caught me a little 1/4" Snap on ratchet there before

- Should be clean, - I use it to check how deep the water is, - that's about it unfortunately. Thanks for asking.
