Okay so here is the low down. My Dads truck needs a stock intake peice replaced, only 2 peices that are unsiveral through the years of 97-03. Next my manifold has a small crack, so I need to replace it, I was thinking Shorties for now and get a dyno tune. Or get my system hooked up, wires and install is 175$. The main goal of my truck is fast..ish. Im looking to be much faster than any 4.2 and pull stock 4.6's with out thinking twice.

 

IMO live with the cracked manifold until you can afford long tube headers and a custom tune. Shorties are a pretty big waste of money, almost as much as stock manifolds.

 

Thats the thing, shorties I can get for 170$. You can hear the crack from forever away, its really annoying. Every DUI checkpoint I hit they always say something about it.

I work at a body shop and im waiting on a totaled F150 XLT to come in.
