I dont build trannies myself, I just destroy them. I have a guy linked in my signature that built one that's taken my powerplant, and happy foot.

Shift kit and cooler will bide time, nothing more. Depending on the year and actual components used, not too much can be done except a few hard parts (steel parts) and clutches.

LSD will help keep the truck controlled and get it to the ground.

If you're serious about making power with a 4.6L it's gonna cost you, probably the most bang for your buck is the Custom Tune most guys here recommend PHP's Gryphon, if you're serious about making power though you can do
-long tube headers
-exhaust, best would be free flowing straight pipes
-intake/ gotts mod take your pick
-throttle body, many people would skip it, but every horse counts right
-underdrive pulleys
-coil packs give you like an extra horse
-electric fans
-gears- 4.56 are good for 4.6's- gears are more for torque
if you're really serious you can get Patriot Stage III Heads and Comp Cams Stage III Camshafts that were originally built for the 99-04 Mustangs, there also this Universal Turbo Kit from Squires Turbo or STS
Easy things you can do to improve horsepower and torque change you oil motor-trans-and gears, get a new serpentine belt, tune-up, sparkplugs, airfilter, oil filter.
And new summer performance tires might help too.
Hope this was useful.

I don't think anyone will agree with the coil packs. The first reason being that these Modular engine don't have coil packs, we have COP's, and "the stock COP's could ignite water" or so I've heard.

That gear ratio would be excessively high on a 2WD. 4.30 would be the very highest I would go.

Thanks everyone with the input. I think I made a mistake not being more clear. My truck has 3.73 limited slip. I just want to get at least 300 hp to the wheels. I love this truck and I plan on keeping it until the wheels fall off and it burns itself to the frame. I'm not looking to drag this thing. I would like a little extra get up and go for the street. I plan on a CUSTOM TUNE, COLD AIR INTAKE AND CUSTOM EXHAUST. The supercharger would just be extra, since I've never had a vehicle with one. I'm a mechanic in the Air Force and installing one is not out of my mechanical scope. I think it would be fun to install it! I didn't think about the underdrive pulleys or an electric fan..very good ideas. As far as a new throttle body, I thought that was given since I want a Cold Air Intake system. Please keep giving me info as you guy get it, I do appreciate it. When I get back Stateside I'll post my pics and status of the build! Thanks again!!!!!

A 5.4 is only a stroked 4.6 so the 5.4 will bolt up to the 4.6's transmission. Also the 2v heads on the 5.4 and 4.6 motor's don't flow very well so I would just get your stock heads ported with a good set of aftermarket cams those mods combined with a CAI and a good set of headers w/ mufflers should put you around 300rwhp.
