Did the spring come out? If it didn't then its still locking the rest of it in place.

Keep your A/c and heater switch in the off position at all times. You don't want the compressor kicking on.

I probably should have taken it somewhere, but couldn't justify ~$100 just to get that off, and yes, I did call around.

The spring didn't come out, but it it's cut then I don't see how it's holding it in place.

I have not been driving the truck at all so I font have to worry about the compressor kicking on.

While the spring may be cut unless it is removed part of it is still wrapped around the pipe keeping it locked.

Yeah I woulda paid the $100 just to get somone to take it off rather then risk damaging more parts and all. Sometimes you give up..

Yea...what he said.

Just cut the hose, rotate the fitting so you can get to the other side and cut the other side the same way.

mine will do it as well if looked at a couple others and they all do it as well so ive jsut all ways thought it was supposed to do that.

both my trucks hiss every time they are turned off. have not noticed any problems ones a 97 and ones a 98

Mine used to hiss for like 10 min, now it does it for like 15 sec which is normal.
