Went out to east for rock over memorial day weekend, but I just started a new job so I have been busy. I am down to hit up Tillamook forest any weekend though. What do you ride?

Spoke to soon. Looks like rain today lol. 07 kx250f but in the market for something new. Parents own river frontage on the trask where I grew up so I do a lot of trask riding in tillamook with the crew. Either that or runs to prison camp, diamond mill, jordan creek and what not with some local friends out here.

I have a '06 WR450. Hit me up next time you ride anywhere is the tillamook forest. We can put together a ride from Rogers out to diamond mill and back. You may have to carry some extra fuel if you have a stock size tank though.

Sounds good. Bout due for a long run. I can see 60 miles before I hit reserve. But have to be within 10 to the truck at that point. Other than that, its a Gatorade bottle in the back pack.

Damn, I forgot how much 250Fs sip the fuel. With a stock tank my 450 could only go about 45 miles which is pretty pathetic IMO. I can go about 90 now with my 3.3 gal tank.

So I found out what was making the hissing noise today, and its not a "normal" thing resulting from running the A/C. A metal coolant line has two small holes in it that were rubbed in by rubber of all things. The red circles are where the holes are. It leaks coolant apparently on really hot days like today, not a lot, but enough that I need to fix it kinda soon. My question is do I have to replace the whole metal line or can I just cut a section and put in new material somehow? The line goes to the radiator and enters at the lower of the two lines (which way is this flowing?). I followed the line as far back into the engine compartment as I could without taking things apart and it goes for a ways so I would really like to just cut a section and replace it if there is a way to do that.

No one knows if you can repair/patch or replace a section of the metal coolant line?

That is not an engine coolant line. It looks like an AC line. It looks like the line from the condenser to the evaporator. This is a job for a specialist. Have your AC system tested by a reputable shop.

My a/c seems to work fine. Is freeon neon green? There was a puddle of neon green liquid under my truck which I assumed to be coolant. Also, I have not used my a/c in q few days but still hear the hissing sound and it is for sure coming out of the pin holes in the pics above.

you have 2 separate leaks then. those lines are a/c for sure. You got antifreeze leaking somewhere else.

I am 99% sure it was coming out of those holes. Is freeon a gas at STP?

Yes you wouldnt see any real residue. Green is antifreeze. If you have a leak in those lines and you have antifreeze leaking those issues are separate.

Crawl under the truck and check the bottom of the ac compressor for that neon green fluid.

Just being speculative here without seeing it first hand.
But your seals on the compressor may have just been puked out.

Time to take it to a specialist.
Have them dye the system to confirm leakages.

so what you guys are saying is that there is not way to cut out the section with the holes and put in a section of new pipe with like compression fittings or something then just have a place recharge the freon?

If it where me and I had that problem I'd order that freon tube from ford and recharge the thing myself. No you cant "fix" it you can only replace it.
