93' 302 needing more power
Alright boys, i have my 94 F150 (go check out my pics, please comment also) Im running a 302 sb out of a mustang. The short block is pretty much stock, I havent really torn into it much, The top end has a single inlet Edelbrock Preformer intake off of a mustang and cold ram air intake with a K&N filter. I have a mustang lightweight plastic fan and have removed the ac cooler for better air flow to the radiator (ac didnt work anyways). I have an Accel cap and 8.5 mm header tip wires with Bosch 4 prong plugs. There is a BOSS power chip in it. I have shorty headers, short 3" exhaust and cutouts made right behind the front tires, hollowed out cats (haha dont let anyone know =P) and flowmaster mufflers. Im running a stock AODE trans with a 1 piece shaft and a rear end with 4:11 gears. Ive also shaved some weight, rear bumper, tailgate, ect. Im looking for some more power but on a cheap budget (yes i know, every mechanics delema). I had in mind electric fans, AC delete, smog delete (if possible, ive heard it is and that its not), and an Accel coil. Any ideas would be wonderful! THANKS GUYS!!

i'm running a zirgo 16" efan and a flex a lite thermal switch. togethor were only about 160 bucks shipped. get them bosch plugs out and put in autolite copper core plugs. performance wise your alot better off cutting out the cats(or shoving a piece of pipe through them, i hollowed one of mine before i got a bassani y pipe and it hurt me more than it helped. stock coil is better than accel IMO(i personally cant stand accel products), if i was to upgrade ignition it'd be an msd coil with a timing bump to 13 or 14*btdc(stock is 10). smog delete does nothing for you except ruin the air you breathe. a truck intake manifold is much better because it gives you more bottom end vs. the mustang intake giving you all top end making it harder to get going.
is the exhaust true dual 3" or single 3"?
that boss chip isnt one of the ebay buys is it?
what are you wanting more power for? racing? towing? just something to do?

Im looking at a kit online, a buddy of mine got it not long ago for his el camino. Has 2 12" fans, mounting and everything for like $80. Hmm, i guess thats what i get for asking autozone what they figured the best plugs were haha. Yeah ive been toying with the idea of running pipes through the cats, i dont want to get rid of the cats because since I live in Missouri I have to get a yearly inspection. Ive been looking at both the Accel coil and the MSD Street Fire coil, most say the MSD is better and theyre about the same price. I'd like to go full MSD eventually, but there's plenty that needs to be done before hand at that price. Yeah thats what i've also been told about the smog delete, I wanted to check in on it more on here bfore making my decision, thanks on that. Yeah i've also heard that the mustang upper gives you less lower end power but I have to back the thing up, it's impressed me and not to say you're wrong but I myself haven't noticed any change in low end power. Books say it give's you an added 30-40 HP and personally I believe it. Yeah it's true dual exhaust, no H or X pipe for me, I like the sound better. On that chip idk, a friend had it and gave it to me so I stuck it on there, i've ran it plugged in and unplugged and did'nt really notice a difference, the way I see it is it's already in there and even if it isn't doing anything it isn't hurting anything so I don't really care either way. Idk I just want something to play with you know, not to the point it can't be an everyday driver but yet still be the beast of the neighborhood haha.
