Engine noise?

When looking at my engine there is a clicking humming sound comming from the left side of the engine compartment. It seems like its coming from right behind the belts.
Is this normal or do i need to go get it checked out? I dont ever remember hearing it before.

Remove the serp. belt and listen. If its gone then it could be a FEAD component such as p/s pump, a/c etc. If it's still there then get a mechanics stethescope (cheap) and listen for noise behind the cover. Tapping in the area you describe could be a chain tensioner for example. Take care.
