new engine or head?

ok, so on my drive home last nite i give it a little juice and next thing i kno POW and it starts spittn and sputterin and not doing a thing, so i look under the hood and see that my cylinder 3 spark plug blew out of the head and so did my coil pack. now the problem is that the head is stripped. the salvage yard wants $225 for a head or $1500 for a motor with 40,000 miles.... so i guess my question is wat should i do? my truck now has 150000 miles on a 4.6l romeo engine. and is that high for the engine? thanks

I agree with jethat, timesert it and be done with it, I have put close to atleast 100 of them in and so far have not once run into an issue with the install or with the vehicle coming back.... We do state police work at my dealership and if one spark plug blows out of one of the police cars we do all eight of them at a shot.... And they beat the datlights out of these cars..... never had an issue...... So timesert it and be done with it !!

heli coil dose NOT hold. Use timesert or plan on doing it again.
