I have a thread on 97-03. Need help on reman engine. It comes without oilpan , intake ,and timing cover. I would like to upgrade to 99 or newer engine. Will the pieces off my 98 fit on this 99 long block. The price, $1750, is the same for any 5.4 block, seems like a better deal than a used engine. I can't find a used one less than $1200 so far.This would be guarenteed 12 months.My engine will need a new crank and rods if I rebuild it. What are my options?

 

If the new reman has non PI cyl heads then your 98 intake will work. If it has PI heads then no your 98 intake will not work on it. PI and non PI are not interchangable between cyl heads and intake manifolds. The 99 should be PI but make sure before building it up with remans you never know.. double check..
