Hi i have a 98 f150 4x4 4.6 triton and i have been having some problems first thing is my truck has been running bad for a while sputtering and hesitating during acceleration and go up hills just yesterday i got dual flowmasters put on without cats and by the way they sound pretty awesome but later on that day on my way home i was just driving normal everything seemed fine and all of a sudden my truck died going down the road i pulled off it wouldnt start back i done a quick checkup on it checked fuses and everything else and decided my fuel pump may have went out so i got it towed home put a new fuel pump in this morning and the truck still wont start it turns over normal but wont fire up went over everything i could think of and still clueless i found that my coils had no fire coming from them i have two on my truck and neither one fires they have juice going to them but thats it i just think its kinda odd that both fail on u at the same time i also checked my old fuel pump by hooking some wires to it and it was ok so i really didnt need a new one i just cant figure out what in the hell happened to my truck its like my fuel pump isnt getting any fire to it i switched my fuel pump relay with another relay and nothing happend so just figured the relay was ok im clueless on what to do i would really appreciate any help

Check the connection at the HDR sensor mounted to the front cover just below and behind the A/C compressor. Other than a fuse ( double check them again) or the PCM check all the harness connections as well.

i fixed the problem put a new crank shaft position sensor on and it still wouldnt start but then i checked my fuses again and my pcm 30 amp fuse was blown i replaced it and my truck fired up but i know i checked that fuse the day before so the sensor may have fixed the problem and i just blew the fuse doing something else i dont know but she runs now

It takes quite a bit to pop a 30A fuse, you generally know when You've popped one. Also, do you have an owners manual? 30A seems high for that fuse. Does it actually call for a 30A fuse? How long have you had the truck? Is there a chance someone else might have put a 30A fuse in because a 20A was blowing? Don't know what they were using in '98 but it still seems high for the PCM. What else is on that fuse? Is there a chance that is blowing it? I'm still wondering if either the pump OR CSPS were actually bad. Still have the feeling there is an underlying problem there.
