4.6 Belt Issue!!!!!!!

alright, i got a 97 F150....the AC pulley went out...and it since its in such a wonderful spot, and the fact that the truck is strictly a mudding truck, i decided not to get it back with AC. so, i was wondering if anyone has done anyway with this and what size belt they used...PLEASE help i need my toy back.

Can't you just order a belt - No AC ?

Try Rock Auto.

the way the pulleys run, you wouldn't be able to because of the grooved sides and smooth sides don't match up. and also without the ac there is no way to put tension on the belt....so, this post is useless now. i posted before i really took the time to look at it.

Check out the pulley system for a non AC 4.6. The compressor pulley is replaced with a different idler and you use a different belt.

Here is a pic of the belt routing without air. Notice that it uses a different tensioner and belt.



Neal the HP freak should have pics of the set up you are looking for. He deleted his AC on the 5.4 that he built.
