I have a 2001 f150 with the 4.6. When its really cold out and my truck has been sitting a while the oil preasure gague doesent move until it wamrs up a little bit the it goes to the normal position in the middle. It doesent run any different when the oil preassure gague reads no preasure, does anyone know what my problem could be.

 

The 01s (and other years) suffered from sensors that stuck when cold. I would replace the sensor. I had to do mine. Once it warms up it works fine. There is a TSB that explains this.

 

Thanks norm i was hoping it was just a sensor or something was it hard to replace the oil preasure sensor, how much are they.

Depending on which one you have, it's between 10 and 30 bucks.

also on frist start ive notice on my aftermarket gauge it takes a few seconds to get oil press. do to the oil being thick and hard to move when its cold. but when i do get press. its 70-80PSI lol

 

Thanks alot everybody im guessing thats my problem. After everything i read about that stupid gague ford should of just left it off and put the idoit light in. im gonna go to ford tomorrow and get the part and see if it works.
