E10 vs. gas with no ethanol

Does anyone here run gas with no ethanol and if so, what kind of mpg increases have you seen running no ethanol gas?

I've found a gas station in my area that sells 87 octane gas with no ethanol and charges 5 cents a gallon more than every other station's E10 blend. I'm going to run a couple tanks on this no ethanol gas, reset my computer, and continue to run this gas to see if I can get a mpg increase.

On E10 this winter I've been averaging 12 mpg's with 80/20 highway/city driving. The truck is an 01 F150 4x4 Supercrew with a 5.4, 3.55 gears, and 265-70-17 tires.

I know in North Dakota there are additives to all gas during the winter months but have been told by the gas station that this gas contains absolutely no ethanol. I will report back mpg results in a couple weeks.

You will probably get 13 on pure 87 if you are getting 12 on E10.

You might get up to 2 mpg better mileage with the ethanol free fuel. It is very hard to find fuel without ethanol as it has replaced MTBE across the country.
I lost less than 1 mpg when they switched up here.

I lost about 6% when they went to ethanol, about 1.00 mpg.

I started running ethanol free gas, only one station around here that sell it... I am getting same gas mileage as I'd get in summer months.. With ethanol, I'd only average 14mpg, with no ethanol I'm up to 18 - 20 mpg. Truck is 00 Harley Edition with 5.4, 114k miles with some mods. Our 99 Scab w/5.4 4x4 is getting around 17mpg with non ethanol, with ethanol was getting 13 - 14mpg. I hope this gas station doesn't ever go out of business

chevron on the gulf coast is 100% gasoline, everyone else has 10% ethanol

most of chevron stationin south have 100%

found several in Atlanta that had 10% ethanol

prive running $.02-.03 above the 10% mix

also one Chevron refinery in Pascagoula is suppler for a chunk of the southeast, they do na lot of blending for other brands there

was running 15-16 mpg on 10%

back to 17-18 on 100% gasoline

So a couple weeks have gone by and so far I have driven 1178.3 miles and have purchased 85.398 gallons of gas for an average of 13.8 mpg - almost a 15% increase! The gas is costing me an extra $.05 per gallon - only 2% more.

I plan on continuing to us only ethanol free gas - 1.8 extra mpg's doesn't sound like much but this will help the pocketbook - this mpg increase will save me almost $60 per month! I can't wait to see what kind of mileage I can get in the summertime - 16 maybe?

1.8 mpg doesn't sound like much if you are already getting around 25 mpg. But that's not realistic in full sized pick-up. If you are only getting around 12 mpg, then a 1.8 mpg increase is HUGE!

Americans are accustomed to MPG which is a measure of how far you can drive on a unit of fuel. But a more useful way to make comparisons is how much fuel does a vehicle consume to drive a fixed distance. That is how cars are rated in most of the rest of the world and it provides fuel economy figures that are linear and avoid the distortion that the MPG figures have built into them.

One thing I don't understand is how can my mpg increase be 15% when E10 should have no more than 10% ethanol - or can 10% ethanol really hurt your mpg's by more than 10%?
