v10 swap

ok guys well the 5.4 i bought and put in has some major issues. not sure what but im about ready to throw it at a moving train just to watch it explode.

so im going to buy a v10, 99 to maby 03 i want to get one that is an actual throttle not the fbw, so my question is from what i have read you can actually tie into the 5.4 harness and make it work? i was going to get the computer and engine harness for the thing just to make it easy. that should make the swap fairly simple. im trying to find the motor now so hopefully within a few weeks ill have it done.

Are the valves bent in the 5four? Did they hit when trying to time? That would be the only reason I would abort. Yea , once they hit, it's all over.

you'll need the V-10 ECM and a stand alone box for your 4r70 transmission

the romeo heads are better... but you need the romeo valve/cam covers to go with 'em

This should be a good one to watch

If the guy sold you a Frankenstien motor was it taken apart and in crates? Did you turn the motor before you bought it? If the timing was off it seems like it would have hit the valves while you two were standing shoulder to shoulder and the money was still in your pocket.

I had a friend in high school that bought an AMC Matador. It was an UGLY PS car. He came up and said "I got a new car". "The stereo is awesome"!
