Does anybody have a method of installing a freeze plug on the passenger side of the engine block with the engine in the truck? Appreciate any guidance.

If you have enough clearance I have used a 1/2" drive socket 1" diameter or so that fits inside the cup portion of the plug with an extension attached long enough to allow you to tap the extension with hammer. Auto Zone or the equivelent may have a driver for loan. Apply blue loctite around the outer edge of the plug before driving it into the opening. Look at another plug thats already installed to get an idea how deep to seat the plug. Make sure it is seated straight so it doesn't pop out. Good luck
If you cant get it in there and need to get the truck up and running you can get those expandable rubber plugs. They are not as good as the metal plugs but will work and they last for a few years before they dry out and start to leak again.
Start with the engine warm. Put the new freeze plug in the freezer for a while. It will shrink and will slide halfway in before you need to start driving it the rest of the way. I put Indian Head Shellac on the seal surface.
