Wally- what do you mean by "no heat and no water in engine or tranny"?You do realize you have heater hose connections right above that area that like to leak (especially into the spark plug hole) and also those years are notorious for leaking head gaskets in the same area, especially when they get that old. It's not a freeze plug that's leaking and traveling is it? I believe you also have 1 or 2 freeze plugs on the back of the block (ahead of the flex plate and torque convertor). I have never had to tackle rebuilding a modular Ford engine, but from everything I have read about it, you even want a rebuilder who is experienced in MODULAR engines, not just in rebuilding engines. Things are a changing (rather, they have changed) from the days when anyone with a few tools could rebuild his "52 Chevy 6 cyl. and it might come out pretty good. Those days are gone and they're NOT comm'in back!

I meant no heat in cab and not over heating, no water in transmission fluid and no water in oil. I looked yesterday and i believe it might be the rear main seal. I can' spot any leaks on the back of engine, but it coming from where the back of engine meets and tranny meets leaking from flyweel? Looked for hoses and hoses are fine?? ill take some pics if i get a can?

Mine was leaking like crazy there, ended up being the O-rings behind the water pump for the heater core tube connect. Valley fills with coolant, then leaches thru an , -what looks like an inspection plate and drains right on top of the starter/ puddles on the ground.

It was difficult to find, take a flashlight, look in the valley/ top of the block/ behind the alternator.

Is it wet ? Standing Coolant ? There you go.

But yea, definitely could be a head gasket as well. Check everything posted, good posts!
