cruise control help

ok a little while back i noticed my master cylinder leaking brake fluid..so i check on a recall on my truck..there isnt one..no biggy i went to ABC and picked up a motorcraft switch and put it on..not leaking anymore..but my CC still isnt working..so i post a thread and someone linked me to another thread where i found a self test of some sort...i do the self test and it comes up with 3 blinks shick is "deactivator switch open or defective....

how could this be its about 3 months old..

well maybe im wondering if the switch i just put on there could be bad

ive checked the fuses already
