Thats why I said I THINK he'll be ok when he said he removed the inserts... I'm not real sure either. We always called what you guys refer to as the lower intake the "plenum". So thats what I still call it. It probably has many names sort of like DEGAS bottle does...

Crap, wait a minute - I don't think I drilled out the head ports? WTF did I drill!!I must be getting old, going nuts and losing it. I know I had to drill out something/ a dowel hole to fit a gasket correctly and I swear I did it on the bench; - thinking more about it. It must have been the intake then, I have a pic somewhere of the dowel holes. What are we working on anyway he doesn't say, looks like , yea it's a 99. I need a pic to see what I drilled lol -

Yea, it was the center (Plenum) dowels I believe. Hell it was only a year ago.

Whelp....she's done. Fired it up and it sounded great. Let it warm up, no overheating issues, no leaks (yet), took it for a test drive, checked under the hood. I set out for the 10 miles trek home and the throttle cable got stuck (I think). Pulled it over, shut it down, took off the platic cover, played with the throttle cable a bit, started up fine and finished driving home. Could one of the screws that hold that plastic cover on have hung it up somehow? In any event, I purposely left the screws on the throttle cable side out....I'm just a nervous wreck driving it around wondering what in the hell is gonna happen next! Thank you for all of your help with this project....I definitely learned a lot of things about under my hood! Hope you all have a great Christmas and Happy New year!

Awesome! Good job hillcm.. Now just keep an eye on the radiator degas bottle for a couple days and make sure you add coolant if the level gets below the bottom level line. Take care.
