2005 FX/4 Alternator

Does anyone know if there is more than 1 alternator used in the 2005 F150 FX/4? I believe the standard is 110 amp, but I need to know if there is a bigger one available. Anyone?

My '04 with 5.4 3V has a 130 amp as standard. I did read back there a few years that they had gone to the 110 as the standard but didn't remember exactly when. Don't know if it would be worth it to change alternators to gain 20 Amps unless you have a really heavy draw on the system. There are aftermarket alternators of the same approximate size that produce 200 Amps and Ford went to 200+ amp alternators on the Police Interceptor several years ago. They should bolt right up. Just have to put a LOT heavier cable from the alt to the battery. They use a special pulley that allows the armature to freewheel when you shut it off.

A while back ford changed they way they rate the alternators and the then 130 amp was reduced to 110 using the new method. So 110 is the most you will get from Ford. Aftermarket you can get up to 400 amps.
