Exclamation Clicking Noise

I have a clicking noise that goes faster w/as i push the gas and slower when i let off the gas.. worse first thing in the morning. Is this my valves tapping? Someone said possible exhaust. Ford 150 V8 1997. Concerned.

probably an exhaust leak where the manifold meets the head. get under the truck and see if you have any studs broken off.

It could be a loose spark plug getting ready to launch - I'd check that RIGHT away.

I'd say PCV valve(s). $5 part. feel them or pull one off while it's running and see if that's it. If you take it off with the engine running you'll have a big vacuum leak so cover it with your finger.

All good ideas above but if it was me the first thing I'd do is remove the serpentine belt and see if the noise stopped. If so then you may have a bad FEAD component (Alternator, A/C, P/S, belt tensioner, pulley, etc.) More than likely one of the above ideas like exhaust are correct but in the process of elimination this is a good/easy place to start. Good luck
