Dorman (Help!) 49812 COP boots/springs for 3V 5.4L?

I recently changed the plugs on my 2004 5.4L. I got the sp-507 plugs and COP boots from RockAuto. The COP boots RockAuto recommended for that engine are the Dorman (Help!) 49812. They have a bend to them, unlike the factory ones, which are straight.

I needed the truck back together, so I just punted on doing the boots. Are these Dorman ones for older 5.4L engines? What is the best replacement for the 3V 5.4L?

Thanks,
fiz

I'd wait till the cops themselves start to fail, then replace them all. For now, just inspect them carefully and use dielectric grease properly.

The Dorman (Help!) 49812 is for the older 2-valve style engine.

If you havent ever changed the coils I'd just get the E-bay ones.

Thanks for the info; I've returned the COP boots to RockAuto and will buy a set of the Global COPs to keep on hand for later use. I did re-grease the existing COP boots.

Would you describe "grease properly"? I'm having trouble with intermittent rough running on my 07. I've ordered a set of these COPs, but am looking for more details, hoping it will make this annoying problem go away.

Thanks

Grease up the insides of the boots, but don't get any on the contact springs.
