Check engine light...truck rattles a bit on acceleration..

check engine came up

2005 f-150 lifted with 91K miles

i noticed that when i get on the freeway at a steady speed the truck is FINE

but when i start to slow down at around 45, and i SLOWLY speed up, it would start to shake a bit, right before hitting the 2,000 RPM, when it passes the 2K rpm the shaking stops..its like a small back n forth back n forth

any ideas? im going to a shop on friday, but im curious to know what may be the problem?

if its a 5.4 check the wireing harness and make shure its not rubbing aginst the A/C acumulator. this has fixed many similar sounding problems for theas. its a start at least!!! -Bry

Have you pulled the codes? If not i would do that. AutoZone does this for free.

You can thank the mechanic's union in California for that law. Buy your own scanner off Amazon.com for about 40 bucks.

With 91k, you are ready for new spark plugs and maybe one or more coils. You probably have a low grade misfire, and you will probably pull some P03xx codes.

What part though? Code P0306 is a misfire on cyl 6, but that doesn't really pinpoint the problem. Could be wires, plugs, injectors...

If they ordered a COP, you will pay about half the price for one as a full set on Ebay. There's no point in changing a COP if that's 91k on the original plugs.
