hows it going guys. I Have an 84 ford F150 with a 302 and yesterday i changed the spark plugs and wires. Now it back fires and dont know if i did cross wire but i changed the only one plug and the same wire at the same time. the spark plugs used was the bosh platam 2. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
for starters i'd take them bosch's out and put autolite copper core plugs in.
and the firing order- 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 -counter clockwise on the distributor
front
5 1
6 2
7 3
8 4
make sure that the wires are in the right order just in case- and i really do recommend replacing them bosch plugs. and make sure the timing is set to 10* btdc

I want to thank ya all for the help! #7 an #8 were crossed and i put autolite copper core. If I might ask what is wrong with the bosch plugs?

they dont have the correct heat range, they can fall apart inside the combustion chamber. sometimes they work, sometimes they dont. i pulled a set of bosch plugs with 15,000 miles out of an explorer with the 5.0 and 2 of the plug terminals were broken. plus the 5.0/302 likes the autolite copper cores the best.
