5.4 shutter/shimmy/shaking??

i wrecked my truck a few months ago and just got it back together this past saturday

while i was driving it i noticed at certain speeds in the rpm range(mainly 1300-1700) it will kind of shutter and shake the truck...it only does it at certain speeds with that rpm and sometimes doesn't do it at all...when it starts doing it if you hit the gas it comes out of it

i have the gryphon and was monitoring the spark, MAF, and engine load to try to see if something was wrong...but i really don't know what numbers are to be expected where

my spark was anywhere from 10 to 50, MAF was 10 to 160 or so when i really got on it

any clue what might be going on or what numbers to i should expect at a certain rpm/gear to check to see if everything is running right??

i don't have a CEL yet so i don't think its really major but it sure isn't how its supposed to be

for what its worth i have a 98 scab f150 4x4, with the 5.4, with a K&N CAI, gryphon, and a dumped dynomax bullet single exhaust

thanx

when you got your truck back did they wash or do anything to the engine? because i have the same engine and when i got mine from the dealer the washed the engine and it sat on the lot till i bought it. what im trying to say is the water got down im my plugs and gave me a bad shuddering in OD and it sounds like the same problem your having.

good luck

ps i only said change the COPS because if you change the plugs you usually change them to but you already did.

when you changed the plugs last time did you use dielecrtic grease? be happy that the plugs lasted that long, user jbrew had a misfire after only 40 or so miles with autolites.

well im still kind of investigating...i think i may have jumped the gun when thinking it was ignition/fuel/spark/motor related...im thinking it might be in the suspension know...its hard for me to tell unless im on the highway because the gravel roads are so bumpy you don't know what is what

hopefully i'll get the fuel filter changed this weekend and take a closer look at the front suspension and maybe figure it out...i figure as long as i don't get a CEL its not to serious if it is with the motor

Was just wondering what type of damage was caused during the wreck? Did they need to replace rims/tires? I know that you believe it is the engine causing the shimmy but could it be out of balance rims/tires?
