Really wierded out.
Really wierded out.
So today I am at my buddies house and we are sitting there listening to my new subs. He and I got out of my truck(left running), and moved 5 feet over to turn his on (to see who's is louder) when out of nowhere my truck starts revving up by itself. It was like someone was in the truck slamming the gas pedal, and then letting off long enough for it to return to idle just to slam the pedal again. My first thought was the IAC. I have a brand new one, and last weekend I took the throttle body completely off and apart and cleaned all the ports and everything so I know the IAC ports arent dirty/clogged. So I turned the truck off and let it sit for a couple minutes and started it again, and it idled fine. Im totally confused. No codes, No CEL, No anything. Just a possessed truck
.
.
Shoot it!
Idunno. The only thing that has that capability is the MAF Sensor. Or PCM fault.
Did you use any type of hose/port plugs when cleaning the TB and elbow? I forgot one once and it somehow ended up in my IAC Sensor. Took me forever to figure that one out

Haha looks like a job for ghostbusters! Maybe they can tell me why the dang thing is posessed.
This scanner is telling me I have EGR insufficient flow, and that I am lean on bank 2. GREAT NEWS!!!!!(CEL is back!
) I used no plugs of any kind. I took everything off the throttle body when I cleaned it out, and got a wire brush and cleaned every single hole I could find.
Right now I really want to do this to the truck

I will part out the rest... if I can find it.

I only felt that way once, - after installing new injectors.. I walked away from it. It wouldn't start. Came back 2 days later and it fired right up. That was before I knew the new computer system that well. I know what I did wrong now.Idunno, I fixed those codes on quite a few Fords - 150's, Explorers, even Vans. I'm not sure why some people can't figure them out ? That's whats puzzling to me lol. What are you guys missing?

I have no clue man. I wrapped all of the vacuum lines with electrical tape a couple times around. Checked DPFE again, and its still showing same readings as what you said it should. Scanner shows no INJ faults at all. No MAF faults. No IAC fault. No EGR solenoid fault. The fuel pressure is all good. There are no problems with the brakes(brake booster controlled by vacuum) which basically says that all of the vacuum lines going around the top of the engine are good.
No PCV fault, and the tube is in great condition as well as the elbows that are known to leak. The tube that runs from driver side valve cover to throttle body is not leaking. I have not changed out the manifold gaskets on the intake. I guess that is my next feat to take on. I really dont want to have to change those because I dont want to remove all the injectors and fuel rails and all of that crap.

Hey you should be happier about that new thread.. after all it was posted in your honor. Tomorrow I will post any type of reading I can get from that darn DPFE. If perhaps one of the readings is off what does that tell me? That I need a new DPFE maybe?
