Full synthetic to High mileage?

I am currently lokking at switching oil from castrol syntec full synthetic to valvoline max life due to higher mileage. I have always been told once switching to full sythetic you should never switch back so is this true?
Thanks
Dave

Why do you want to switch? If it ain't broke, don't fix it! I'll ALWAYS use a full synthetic unless it's burning or leaking excessive amounts, regardless of mileage. If it's burning or leaking, I'll either fix it, get rid of it, or treat it like a beater.

Untrue.
