Wiring up E-fan

I have an e-fan off a Tauras, sopposed to flow damn near 3500 CFM... It has three wires coming off of it... Ground, low speed, and high speed. I want it wired that the low speed comes on around 190, and high speed comes on around 200.

I don't want the low to come on with key cause I want the quickest warm-up time in winter.... I was also thinking to have the low speed come on a little higher so it doesn't always have to be turning. T-stat opens at 195 btw....

What is the best way to wire this up? As some of you know, I HATE aftermarket switches, but if I have to, I guess I will wire a switch for the high speed.......

as long as the thermostat is closed before 195* then it wont have any effect on the warm up period if the low speed comes on with the key.

You need electronic thermostats to turn on and off the fans at certain temps. I used temp sensors that were made for trans coolers with built-in fans. Check out summit racing, they have a selection of there own and from B&M at the temp of your choice.

Use a 2nd one set for the high speed. Years ago they just duct taped the pick-up sensors on the outside of the hose just before it dumps back into the radiator. The beauty of it is, it doesn't have to read EXACTLY the temp that it picks up wherever you intend to mount it. You just adjust it to come on when the gauge or water temp (per infrared temp gun) gets to where you want it on. What do you intend to use for relay(s) to power it? You won't want to run that through a switch. The Ford electrics are terrific fans, but they do draw a heavy load, especially when they come on. The Taurus (or whatever you get it off of) should have a controller that would be better than anything you you can rig up because it is MADE to take whatever that fan can throw at it and would deal with the 2 speed also. If you got it from a Pick-A-Part, go back and follow the wires from where the fan unplugged and see if you can't identify the controller and get that too. If you can hook that up, you'd be better off by far.

2 relays and 2 temp switches. u can get them from autozone and advanced auto parts. the only problem is you must be sure one fan speed turns off before u click it to high or you will over amp the motor and burn the brushes and armature and it will make alot of nice pretty smoke!.

CTC- I don't know if you were responding to my post or another. If to my post, did you read what I said about where to get it? Probably cost you $10-$15 at most there. And then it does everything you want and need. Oh well, your vehicle, I'll stay out of it.
