added a quart of oil my '99, 4.6L V8 about eight weeks ago just before a trip.
at 112K miles, it did not suprise me.

Picked up the supplies this week to do an oil change and discovered it was a about quart and a half low.

It does not blow smoke- not at start up, nor idle, nor highway acceleration.
My garage floor is spotless.

Now i realize it has to be going somewhere but __where__ ??

The engine compartment could use some cleaning but i really don't see anything on the valve covers or manifold.

Any ideas where to search?

 

How many miles did you put on it in the 8 weeks?

Replace the PCV valve, and use only a Motorcraft valve.

 

probably put about 2K miles on it between then & now.
