Water leak top of 5.4

What is this? Is there a gasket here? The leak seems to be coming from below the fixture the hose is attached to. It is not the hose.

your picture did not work. You can not post a pic straight from your hard drive, if that is what you tried. It hs to be downloaded to an album on this site or come from a hosted site such as Photobucket.

You pics link didn't work but I saw the pics in your album. Kinda looks like you've had the engine partialy cleaned and it was oily/dirty.

The engine is 150K miles and runs well but this coolant leak just happened. I don't know if this object attached to the hose can be serviced.

Your welcome. The only thing you did incorrectly was you copied from the properties of the thumbnail. You have to enlarge it and then copy the properties.

The intake manifold cracked under the crossover, if it's leaking coolant. I don't see any coolant?

Anyway, the plastic manifolds are known to crack in that spot. - Need a new/used one. = Ebay or http://www.car-part.com/

Type in your Zip and they find you one close to home, used.

I would look on Ebay first, there's been NEW ones on their floating around once in awhile, you might get lucky and find a new one cheap.

Good Luck.

I guess the more these trucks age, this plastic manifold is going to be in great demand. I wonder, maybe I should start on carving some investment castings now. People are sure going to be looking for an answer to this problem. A good cast aluminum, aftermarket one, seems sure to be in great demand in the coming years.

Yea, if you don't find one, I know where you can get an 03 in GREAT shape. If it was me, I would grab it lol.

You can also run an aluminum manifold from a 99 F150 5.4L. It has to be from a half ton tho, -the 3/4 tons were nonPI in 99, so they won't work.

In 2000, all 5.4L 1/2 tons went to plastic/composite. You can use 1/2 ton 5.4L manifolds from model years 99-03 for your 01.
