No

Run up to Auto Zone and grab their Fan wrenches - It's free to borrow them.

I use the bolts that hold the pulley to the water pump, I back them out just enough to get a boxed in wrench behind the head of one, and the shaft of the wrench behind the other one. Then I put the big wrench on the fan shaft and give it a good twist. But I do let it soak in marvel mystery oil or similar penetrating oil for a couple of hours first. Those things can be a biech.
If I bend one of the small bolts, I go through the scrap bin

Flame suit on
But it does work!

What's to flame ? That's how you do it. The Ford, Clutch Fan kit does the same thing. The Large wrench fits over the pulley bolts. The other wrench fits the nut.

I've got one of the waterpumps laying around somewhere, with the fan still on it. But it was secured on by a wreck in the red 98. I don't think it's coming off.

My guess would be, that they are all standard thread, because the engine spins that way. But sometimes I figure wrong.

That would be my guess, -now lol. I think I saw the possible reverse thread clause in the Ford Service removal procedure ? Ahh, I can't recall for sure tho.

I should pop in the DVD for the 06 and see what that one says. Maybe later.

BTW- Yea , you can bend bolts pretty easy trying to remove. - Funny thing is, when I install a new Ford fan clutch, I was surprised,-the required torque wasn't all that much.

yes im sure all the ford trucks are standard thread.
I have personally taken off my 03, an 00, and a two 05s

some of the land rovers are reverse thread, its hard to remember what is what because they changed the engine manufacturers every 3 or 4 years, and even on a given year model, different model vehicles have different engines and manufacturers

06 5.4 is standard thread.
Fan wrenches are knuckle busters. I just use an air chisle to loosen, on mine. Learned it from a good old gear head who works in our shop. He got sick and tired of wrenches slipping and cutting his knuckles. It don't take much to get it loose.

they make a kit for attachment to an air hammer

they actually work very very well for stuck fans, but for the average auto enthusiast its not worth the investment of the expensive tools, the rented kits from autozone are effective, but can be a little dangerous
