Need 5.4 engine

Hey guys I have a 04 screw with 125k on it. Have had problems with engine in past(knocking etc.) when I have gotten on it some. I pull atrailer never see more than 3k rpms. was told needed new engine (sludge build up). I changed oil and filter and have been driving it, pulling trailer just have a nock . I had to get on it the other day 18 wheeler other lane changed as I pulled out. Got down road and engine started running rough and sounded like it was about to come apart. Towed home changed oil. Idles but when I tried to drive it started making noise again. Where is the best place to look for engine online (complete used ,shortblock). Have someone that can put in. I do want to find out whats wrong with it. But I have to have some backup plans.

Sorry 5.4 3v. Its been knocking since the 1st of year. one delership said i had wrong oil filter on it. Wanted to tear front of engine down. Changed oil, correct filter (put gunk engine flush through it) had asecond dealer look at it said needed new engine due to sludge build up. It makes a hell of a rackit. Italways has happened if I have had to get on it (traffic etc.) I was also told it was due oil starvation and timming getting off because of sludge getting on screen in oil pan.

I would look at http://car-part.com Sludge build up? In an 04? How often did you change the oil? A short block means that you will be using your old heads. If they were starved for oil the cams/phasers may also be damaged.
