5.4 Spark Plug Problems Info
Most dealers charge around $350, some have been a little less, some a little more. That includes the plugs.

Sorry for the hijack, tried to keep it somewhat on topic. :o
From what I'm hearing, the Champions may not be holding up all that well. It may have something to do with the heat range, I dunno.
Givver, in the 2V heads, you should be using nickel plated plugs (Motorcraft SP series) and NO antiseize, those plugs are made specifically for the engine. In the 3V heads, you use nickel antiseize ONLY on the ground shield, NOT the tip or the threads.
Padron, I believe the book labor for a 2V plug change is 2.9 hours. If you do it yourself, use only Motorcraft SP series nickel plated plugs, NO antiseize, and torque them to 28 ft/lb.

That's right 2.9.
Warrenty = 2.6. (for whatever reason) ~ That's what they pay I guess.
Depending where you go, the 3 valves are 240-260 + .5-1hr per/broken plug
(labor only.)

I don't feel like digging up a bunch of old threads, but I recall we have at least one member who put the Champions in and he said that they ran like crap. There is another 1 piece plug made - Brisk - but those are not platinum and are too cold for street driving, they are racing plugs.
I dunno - I haven't seen any posts in several months from people *complaining* about the Champs in the 3V, but the company's track record in Ford engines hasn't been too good over the years. I'm just saying that they may not run well or they may need changing more frequently. They certainly take care of the sticking and breakage issue though. You still have to use nickel antiseize on the unthreaded barrel.
