What this wire go to?

2000 f150 5.4

connects by the A/C compressor. 2 wires, that snap/lock onto a clip that looks like its going to compressor, but I believe its actually going to the motor

Long story short, but I found these wires hanging, becuase my truck wouldn't start. I am assuming my clip broke over the winter from plowing snow, and the plug finally worked its way loose.

I would like to fix the plug so it once again locks, and not have to worry about it falling off again, but not sure what the best way to fix it is?

While I was under there, also found out my a/c compressor is leaking around th freaking case! WTF? I guess that could be from pushing snow too? When it rains it pours.

if your truck wont start and you found those wires hanging, it sounds like the crank position sensor pigtail wire

Right! There's only two connectors down the passenger side. The CRANK & AC.

I believe the connector that breaks all the fricken time is the AC, but the CRANK plugs in from under and is at the end of the harness on that side.

Take an air gun and blow around the block just above the oil pan in that area. It's probably full of dirt. I'm not sure if the truck will run without that plugged in tho lol.

It will not run without a functioning CPS.

I wonder if the Harness for the Cruise Control that plugs into the Master cylinder, i know ford was unpluging them due to the shortage of faulty harness replacesments. Those were causing the Engine to catch fire.

also ford is no longer just unplugging them they now have a harness that they install that has an inline fuse or something

Yep, that's all mine is. It's like an extension, - You disconnect from the Master cylinder and plug into their extension directly, - Then plug the other end of their extension back into the Master cylinder.

There's a little fuse block w/a 10amp mini fuse in their extension. If that fuse ever blows, your NOT suppose to replace it. Your suppose to bring the vehicle back into service so that they can determine WHY it blew. They replace more parts if need be.

Why are we talking about the cruise control anyway ?? lol.

Thanks guys it is indeed the CPS. The locking tab on the female end broke, so it plugs in, just doesn't lock on. I think I will try a dab of silicone on the plug, and see if the will help hold it on.

Thanks again.
