Rough Idle

Hey guys,

I got an '03 Lightning, it's got about 70k miles on it. Lately, when idling, the needle bounces a little between about 500 RPM, and 1000 RPM, and almost feels like its about to sputter and turn off, but it never actually does. After it sputters for like 4-5 seconds, it goes back to normal idle and it usually wont do it again for a few minutes.

I mean, It's not really a big deal the truck runs fine and it NEVER turns off, im just curious as to what could be causing this?

I checked for vacuum leaks, am good there. CAI Intake is less than 6MO old, and the TB is remarkably clean.

Mike

Does it normally go bad after a while? I know it's fairly easy to replace, but still.

Well, they can corrode inside from moisture thru the PCV system and hang/ get sticky.

You can service it yourself w/ deepcreep or wd40. Remove it,- flood the sensor with on or the other solvents and work the mechanicals carefuly, then blow it out with compressed air.

Or just by new.

The only place Seafoam should touch your truck is in the gas tank. It's a decent injector cleaner.
