Fuel injector change, opinions?

Summer hour start again so I have my first happy Friday this week, and I'm spending the day off doing a tune up on my 2002 f150 4.6L.

I have a sight miss on really rainy/humid days on #8, so I'm doing a full spark plug/COP replacement. Planning in cleaning the throttle body, changing the fuel filter, and a Gotts mod just for fun.

I've recently picked up a new set of injectors for a good price, my question is should I change the injectors now as a bit of PM on the truck, or hold on until I have an issue with an injector. I'm just a few trips to the beer store away from 260000km and the engine seems to run pretty good outside of the bad COP on #8. I'm not sure if the injectors are original or not. I had the #6 COP go bad on me in the winter and changed it out, and by the looks of the COP it may have been original. It had some mileage on it at least.

So, what do people think? Leave the injectors as/is for now or replace them since I have a new set here at my disposal?

Well i changed mine at quite a few less miles than you did, didnt notice alot of difference but i was only at like 115k. i also got brand new (well rebuilt) Bosch design 3 injectors for like 100 bucks. if i were you id look around on ebay and when you find a pair for under 200 bucks grab um. may as well replace um while your in there.

Excellent, I'll do an injector swap while i'm holed up in the engine compartment.

If under 200 is a good deal, then I'm happy with the set I bought. Got the set of 8 for $75 Canadian, so if they make a difference then awesome, if not then I at least have piece of mind knowing they've been replaced. Found the on Kijiji, the guy I bought them for had bought them and sold his truck before he got them installed.

Thanks for the advice!
