what to do got p0401 today again????????? help me lord.

what to do got p0401 today again????????? help me lord.

i got p0401 popping it ugly little head again.

now i have a 1997 4.6 f-150

i have replaced the following with new oem ford parts.
1-dpfe
2-egr
3-iac
4-all hoses

i also have take the intake out and cleaned the ports. i cant figure it out. is there something i am missing?

Have you varied that the wiring/connector is good along with proper volts coming to the DPFE? In some very rare cases a reflash is required when everything else is good.

yes sir i have checked that as well and all is normal. do you think that there is a block in the tube from the exhaust. or the vacuum solenoid is bad.

i blew threw six dpfe sensors from advance auto thank god for warrentys....anyways went to the ford dealer and bought a ford dpfe its been 6 months now and no code...

ya that's way i bought ford oem part only. it is only a week old so i hope its not bad yet

OE part only for the DPFE sensor. No luck with aftermarket ones

maybe clean the egr tube. there is an orifice inside there that creates a pressure differential and if it gets clogged or restricted then it would cause the dpfe sensor to see that the flow is out of spec. the dpfe reads pressure before and after the orifice, so i would assume that it could cause the p0401 code.

cool thanks. i pulled it out and cleaned it out not much in there. a little bit of carbon. i also bought a new egr solenoid. lets see what happens.

you check the lil port on the exhuast manifold?

all the money your throwing into your EGR you shoulda just got an EGR delete kit for 24 buck shiped and got rid of the POS EGR stuff

sorry no can do in cal you need it to pass smog. thanks for the info.

OK now this is starting to get annoying. i put in a new vacuum solenoid yesterday, now it gets p0401 faster then ever. i will show up in about 10miles. i have not found any vacuum leaks. man i don't know what to do now????????? maybe its time to take it in.

take it somewere and have it digenosed then with the info they give you take it home and fix it yourself....

i did that with my truck ford did a 144 point inspection told me all 4 shocks were bad front brakes were bad inner and outter tie rods were bad and the ball joints and i said thank you for letting me know ill fix it my self!

so give that a shot....humm i could never live in commiefornya
