Same tires? Same tire pressure? Flowmaster VS Stock? Slower reaction on your part? Stuck parking break? Bad tune? Swap vehicles and race again.

OK, the MTS is not a racing tire. It is heavy tire. It will take a substantial amount of power to turn it.

Where are your shift points set at on your programmer? Add 500 rpm to the shift points in each gear and go out and run the truck. If at any time you hit the rev limiter when it shifts, immediately get off the gas. Lower that particular shift point by 100 rpm. Go out and run again Keep lowering it till it no longer hits the rev limiter. Do that for all the shift points that hit the rev limiter during a shift.

If after adding 500 rpm you do not hit the rev limiter during shifts then add 100 rpm to each till you hit and then go back and lower it to the previous limit. Do all of this with the truck at operating temperature. When you are finished go out and race.

I am guessing that 5600 in 1st will bump the limiter but give it a try. Worst case scenario you have to back it down to 5300. Can you adjust shift firmness too? If yes, set to a higher level. It will increase the speed of the shift and not allow the engine to rev as much between shifts. The less time you spend shifting the longer you are applying power to the wheels.

Set shift firmness to max. It will reduce the time the transmission spends shifting. How are you launching the truck? Foot on breaks skinny pedal to the floor? Do the tires spin when you launch? Yes, lower the launch rpm in 100 rpm increments till it stops spinning the tires. No, increase the launch rpm till they do then lower it by 100 rpm.

putting the shift firmness up actually helps the tranny.

i can't remember what my shift points are set at but they are no where near the limiter. you also have to be careful because the rev limiter itself can be adjusted with the edge and they tell you to keep all shift points at least 500rpm below the limiter for some reason that slips my mind.

i found that at full throttle the truck would hit 4300 rpm or so and then just rev up until it shifted. it would lose that pull when it hit what i call empty revs, so i watched where i would feel the loss in pulling power and put the shift point at that rpm. did this for each successive gear and i have hit 9s 0-60 with nothing more than exhaust, cold air, and the tuner.
