Littleherby, I have the exact same issue! Mine started with that same knocking noise and the truck wanted to die at low idle under load. The truck will start to vibrate and want to die, then you give it gas and it smooths right out and runs fine. I took it in and got the codes P0345, P0340, and a randome misfire code P0300. They seem to think it is the cam phasers, have not got it fixed yet. Just to let you know, I am dealing with the same issues you are. If you get any resolution let us know! I saw in a manual that it could also be that the timing chain jumped a tooth and know the engine is out of timing. Not sure yet, just waiting to get it in the shop (next week).

I have the same thing. It is on my left bank and we can not even drive the truck once it gets warmed up. I changed the cam phaser and also swapped the cam sensor and solonoid from the other bank but the problem is still there. Very frustrating. If any of you guys find the fix let me know. The only thing I can think of that has not been changed is the valve body assembly but I don't want to keep throwing parts at this thing.

This topic has been discussed alot latley. I have the same thing going on with my truck. Mine had the P0345 code. I took it to 2 different dealerships. Both said I was lookin at a $2000-$2400 bill. Thats the timing chain and tensioners, gaskets.........you name it. If your out of warrenty your out of luck. BTW, can you hear a chain rattle coming from the front of your truck? When there is slack in the chain due to worn tensioners you can hear the rattle at very slow speeds while giving it gas off and on. If I were you I would try to change out the CPS just to see it that might cure the problem. I did, but didn't cure mine.......but you never know, atleat you know you'll have new sensors.

my truck was acting alot like you described. it started with pulling trailers at idle speeds then got to being at every stop. then someone on here told me to clean the throttle body. i ended up bringing it to the dealer and the changed the throttle body because something with the electrical parts in it were bad this fixed it and know my truck runs better than ever. i would recommend cleaning or changing it out then see what happens.

I don't have any chain rattle. It is almost like a switch goes off and "bang bang bang". Some times if I let it sit there and bang it will just go away on its own.
I don't see how the throttle body could cause this but I guess I can have a look.

Bump:
My truck just started giving me the same exact problems, I took it to a dealership and they said "Found possible head oiling problems, possible heads or base engine fault, cannnot be sure without tearing down engine." The only codes being thrown right now are the p0340 and p0345's
