Anyone replace there own O@ sensors.

I have a 2000 4.6L F150. I bought two new 02 sensors, I would like to replace my front ones. I was looking in my hains manual and it really wasn't that detailed about the fronts. Where are they located? and does the truck need to be jacked up?

You will need to jack the front of the truck up, for whatever reason I cannot remember how big a freakn O2 sensor is. Its like 13/16 or 7/8. Sorry its late and the brain dont workie so well right now.

Very easy to do actually. If you get under the truck the front O2 sensors will be between the the exhaust manifold and the cats.

I have one of these deep-slotted deep O2 sensor wrenches from my VW repair days.

Do these work with the F-150? I would think they would IF there's enough clearance for them.

IIRC the OEM is Scheley although people like Matco sell them.

That's the type of tool I used. Worked great. The one I got was about $10 at AutoZone; I'm sure it was not Matco quality, but it did the job.

FWIW, on my V6 I did not need to jack the truck up.
