Auto Zone Scans for free.
jbrew, I did and it is the same. I am at a loss. Will the scanner at Autozone ready the issue even if no codes are thrown?

No. 2 or 3 valve? List all mods.

Just the airraid and a maggie. I went on down to Autozone and no codes were found! Really frustrating. If it were not so difficult I would change the plugs early but I am worried about breaking them. It's the 3V

Allot of early 06's have the same injector problems as the 05's.

It's not early to change those plugs. I think it's crazy to have those particular ones in their for this long. Read this -

But, I would start with the fuel filter/then test pressure.

jbrew, one last question. Should I be worried about these plugs breaking off. I remember reading something about having to pull the heads and such if this happened. Thanks for taking the time to help.

yes you should worry about the plugs breaking off. The heads rarely need to be removed there are tools to remove the broken ends.

The "How To" is a Ford TSB. Search "Spark Plug TSB"

I think FordTech posted the latest one here -

https://www.f150online.com/forums/en...g-removal.html

I would just let them soak in some sort of catalyst(I think FT suggests the best one) for awhile/ Crack them loose(no pun intended), then let them soak a little more before attempting to remove. I wouldn't purchase the tools needed to extract broken ones unless it happened. That's a chance you take. Check with Auto Zone about borrowing an extraction kit - it's free, if they have one.

BTW- Ford screwed everyone with this problem. Although they try to provide a method of extraction, it doesn't always work. Then again, sometimes the plug change goes well. There's been many posts where a catalyst isn't even used and no problems occure. Sooo. You may get lucky, just don't wait to long.

Well I got th efilter changed, no change at all. Took it to the shop and had diagnostic run. THey told me everything checks out perfect. He said that he drove the truck and got it to reproduce what I said but nothing is showing up on the computer. I guess it's time to change the plugs. Could a COP be cracked or something? The guy also said that he put it on a lift and used a heat gun on the exhaust. Said that temps after the cats were 100 to 200 degrees cooler that before the cat and that I could have a cloged one? BS?
