got a deal off craigslist for a hypertech power programmer for 02-03 5.4 or 4.6l f150s.

guy will deliver it tomorrow. its in like new condition, with the box still in like new condition.

guy is selling because he bought a 04 diesel.

any reasons why i shouldnt get it ?

im not looking to race my truck, just looking for 1-2mpg gain if i can get it.

Look into custom tuning. More bang for your buck.

Don't buy it!

The programmer is either or, it can't be for both motors. It is displacement and year specific i.e. 2000-2003 4.6L. I know because I have one. I have the Hypertech III unit. If the owner did not return the original truck to stock, the programmer will be no good to you anyway.

It made quite a difference in my little 4.6, especially from a stop and passing on the highway. Gas mileage is the same unless I am heavy footed. It is not a custom tune but for $300 I have enjoyed it.

not sure how much the xcal's cost..but my predator was only like $360 and u have about 20 more options than the hypertech III + custom tuning capabilities...

If only I knew you then LOL. I got it right when I joined the site and like I said I have enjoyed it, but the way these guys rave about their custom tunes and how much "better" the truck is kinda surprises me.
