DTC Help!

My friend has a 97 F250 5.4 v8 and it is throwing three DTC's. I hooked up my Scanguage II and the code's are P0303 and it's showing P0000 twice. From looking on here i've found that the P0303 code is a missfire on cylinder number 3 but I can't figure out what the P0000 code's are for. Can someone help me out with this? Thanks!

It's probably a P1000 - Check it again

Might need a CAN compliant scanner for a 3 valve.

I didn't know they needed additional support.

CAN is needed for all 04 and newer vehicles. it has nothing to do with the engine.

Use a dedicated scan tool or call Scangauge for tech support for oddball stuff if it happens. It would be their fault for not properly decoding the PCM data that causes the errant code.

Sorry for taking so long to reply. We found the problem it was a bad cop on cylinder #3. Also the code's were from a 97 F250 not my truck. Can anyone tell me what all is different between a 97 F250 and a 97 F150? The only differences I can find is the F250 has 7 lug wheel's versus 5 for the F150. Thanks for the help!

I know that an F250 is classified as a 3/4 ton truck but this F250 is the same bodystyle as a 97 F150 and visually I just haven't noticed any major differences between the two truck's. I thought the F250's around 97 had a square body instead of a round body like the 97-04 F150's?

the f250 light duty is almost the same as the f150. its got heavier rear axles and suspension than the f150. the heavy duty was the same body as my pickup. it was the heavier f250. the light duty f250 and the f150 werent very different. looking at them you would swear they were the same thing. but they're not. they only made the light duty f250's until the super duty came out.
