In line block heater Question?

I am currently tossing up the idea of putting a 1000watt inline water heat pump style block heater. I have found one for a good price but I was wondering if from the outlet of the heater core goes directly back to the radiator? If anyone has installed one of these how hard are they to install, and are there any problems that have occurred with it installed. Thanks

Fairly easy to install. Installed one years ago with no problems. Just make sure you zip tie the harness or wiring very well! good luck

Has to flow with normal flow of engine operation. Also make sure your system is filled back up n primed before you plug it in or you'll burn it up

I don't understand the need for these things unless you live in a 40 below climate. Since I purchased this truck in 1998 - It's been the best cold start vehicle I ever owned - Always fires right up. If there's a problem, it lies somewhere else. Sub-zero warm up times are 15 seconds/one cycle - That's how long they take to cycle. And if you have a crank no start problem - Keep in mind the computer shuts the injectors down after 5 seconds of cranking - If it don't start after 5 , it's not going to. - I didn't know that after installing new injectors - Took two days for me to figure that one out

Its not a matter of not starting, well with me it aint. Its a matter of a MUCH faster warm-up time. I plug my truck in just for the simple fact of it warming up 10 times faster than starting a BONE cold motor and then getting on it to warm up quicker. If I had the money for one, I would've put in a circ heater also.

Wouldn't you like to jump in your truck when it's 0 out, start it, and hit the heater and get warm air right away?

The extra electric bill should be balanced out by the fuel savings starting a warm engine.

Nope, the extra tablespoon of gas is much cheaper than plugging in your truck all night.
