NGK working on 3V Plugs.

OK I emailed NGK to see if any thing was in the works regarding the 5.4Ls 3V spark plugs. I'd love to put in NGKs if they were available. Much to my surprise, here is the response I rec'd...

"Hello,
Thank you for your interest and support of NGK. I believe we are currently working on developing an improved replacement for this application.
As you may or may not know the original Motorcraft plug and Autolite replacements have had many problems with breaking during removal, which unfortunately is inherent to the design of the plug and is one of the main reasons they (Ford) are changing back to a traditional style plug for model year 2008.
Currently I would recommend using the Champion plugs because they are an improved one piece design and should reduce or eliminate the breaking problem. The NGK replacement should be a one piece design as well. There have been no announcements as of yet to when the NGK will be available so I would imagine it is most likely many more months away. Thank you.

good, hopefully they will get them out soon, it will be a great market for them to dominate. quality plugs offered to remedy a design issue from another manufacturer.

They would make a killing right now since there aren't any good options at the moment.

NGKs IMO are the best plugs out there. They are a very good company although I use only Motorcrafts in my 5.4L. My wifes Bimmer used high dollar $15 four prongs NGK as original plugs. I bought some single plug NGK platinum plugs for $2.60 each that were of similar specs and the engine is running as smooth as silk.

I think so to, might not be as good as the Denso's in the 2 valves tho - Just from what I've heard. NGK's kick a$$ in the Honda's (not the cars) - But they were over $5 apiece for my 500 lol way back when. But I have a Honda power washer and a little track drive snow-thrower that run great on them.

Always worked well in the bikes. Champion makes a good plug for the Briggs and Stratons.

I used to run ngk in performance stand up jet skis, They were miles above the rest.
Even my local Kawasaki dealer kept them in stock. The company in Lake Havasu City
that ported my engines said never to run anything else.

Yup thats all we'd ever run in our snowmobiles. If you were stuck and HAD to run a champion... well it wouldn't take too long to foul up.
