Question Anyone want to help with this?

I am extremly new the the site (First thread and had to be a tipical noobie thread needing help)

Well here guy's is what I am doing.

A 3v 5.4 short block W/ 4.6 P.I. heads from a 03 mustang GT. This is going in my 97 F150 4x4

Here are some question's I have too those of you who can help or have experience will be greatly appreciated.

1) What will my compression be on that set-up? The pistons are flat-top

2) What intake manifold will work on the set-up im running? The one that came off is a bit too narrow

good luck finding an intake for that application. Why would you want to put 4.6 heads on a 5.4 3v block?

The 2Valve Pi heads will bolt up to the 5.4 block. You will need a 5.4 2 valve intake or the mustang adapter that allows 4.6 intakes to bolt to the 5.4 block. read the following article. http://www.mustang50magazine.com/tec...wap/index.html

The only concern I would have is the piston to valve clearance. I do believe that a flat top will hit a valve.

I tought soo too but it looks like the piston compensates for the dish from not coming to the top

And im using the 3v 5.4 block with 4.6 pi heads for 2 reason 1) I have everything in my garage from prior builds 2) pi heads are pi heads no matter if its from a 4.6 or 5.4

The main thing is what is the difference in blocks from the 2v and 3v?

The 3 valve is a stronger block. I cannot speak at the crank but a forged crank is better than a cast one.
