question about reliability of....

I posted here a day or so ago with a broken down 2006 F150. The dealer diagnosed with a faulty fuel injector in cyl #2.

This is the 2nd time in 46,000 miles i have had to have fuel injectors replaced. Is this common on my year of F150?

I am beginning to worry about using this truck when traveling. It left me stranded this time as well as last time. The big difference is the first time it was covered under warranty this time its NOT.

The fuel injectors are under warranty for a long time past the 3 year 36,000. I'm not certain but I think it's around 6 years 125,000 or somewhere along those lines.

As for the reliability, Ford knows there can be problems with these fuel injectors, it's not common but it happens. I'd find a dealer who is willing to work with you and get them all replaced.

Ford knows about the injectors but will only replace them under warranty as they fail. Don't expect them to replace all 8 of them at one time.
