Weird White Smoke?

I don't know where else I would post this so here it goes. When coming to a fast (faster) stop, I notice white smoke that comes out of the exhaust. I don't know what this is. It happens every time I stop kinda fast, no matter what temperature or driving conditions. The smoke is like the white smoke that comes from your exhaust when you are in cold weather, but only thicker and floats around in the air longer. Any Ideas?

Ill try and take some pictures but its kinda hard when driving.

White smoke is usually anti freeze, I'm pretty sure. Doesn't make since that it would make a few puffs when stopping.

I bet it's nothing Unless I have bad head gaskets too.. I don't think so.

Prolly just blowing all the condensation out of your muffler. It can add up depending on claimant and how you long you drive from A - B.

I could be wrong MTG - How does your exhaust smell at idle ? Using Coolant ? You should be able to smell coolant.

Burning coolant usually smells sweet. Mine really doesn't smell like anything and my coolant level has been staying level. Ive still been trying to get some pictures, but its kinda difficult.

Could have bad intake gaskets as well. That usually don't happen until you allot of miles behind you tho. They go bad at the water jackets up front and leach into #1 and 5.

I know this usually happens on acceleration away from idle, but couldn't it also be burning oil? The difference in color between white and grey is not that much. And, oil smoke hangs around for a long time.

Isn't oil burning is usually a blue-ish color? Also, Its not on the acceleration, but only on stopping fast. I cant figure it out. I guess it could be nothing. Guess ill find out soon enough

Yea, I've heard oil smoke described as blueish too. It really just looks greyish white to me.

I suppose, on a calm day, you could take your truck out on a deserted road, come to a fast stop and then leap out to do a "sniff test". (Make sure you put it in Park before you leap out though).

You can practice that in the grocery store isles. Just make sure no ones around or you'll be discovered..
